Biography: KAREN D.
ANSELMO L.M.T. Karen is the owner and
Licensed Massage Therapist at The Healing Touch.
Karen entered the health / holistic science
field by obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in
Exercise Physiology, at Adelphi University,
L.I., N.Y.
Her passion for
natural healing continued with further studies
in nutrition, vitamin and herbal
supplementation, and naturopathic healing.
These studies
led her into the field of Therapeutic Massage.
She obtained her massage license from The
American Institute of Massage Therapy in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida. Upon graduation, The
Healing Touch was established in order to better
deliver her knowledge and expertise to her
clientele around St. Augustine, Florida. And
since she is bi-lingual, she does this in both
English and Spanish.
A natural motivator, Karen enjoys building
programs for her clients' lifestyle
modification, that include diet and exercise
suggestions. Personally, she is a vegetarian and
advocates this environmentally sound diet. She
maintains her own good health by exercise, diet,
proper nutrition and also receives a weekly
therapeutic massage.
Karen
specializes in creating a nurturing massage
session, one in which the specific physical,
emotional and spiritual needs of the individual
are assessed and incorporated into the massage.
The practice of
Massage isn't a static therapy. Through
continuing education and experience, Karen and
her staff continue to enhance their skills and
knowledge, and grow with each new encounter. By
incorporating these new techniques into existing
massage methods, a massage is never the same
"product" from day to day.
In addition to her passion for massage, Karen
loves to SCUBA dive and, shares the
wildlife beneath the ocean's surface through her
underwater photography. The photos that are
included in these pages show her appreciation of
the natural underwater world.
